NHBOS fund
Fund for the stimulation of landscape architecture
The NHBOS fund aims to support the development of landscape architecture in the Netherlands. Landscape architects work on outdoor spaces at various scales. They do research on spatial challenges and make designs for spaces such as squares, parks, residential areas, recreation areas and nature reserves, but they also work on regional and (supra) national spatial visions. The fund annually supports both students and professionals in their development as landscape architects. In addition, the fund organizes the Bijhouwer Event every three years, during which the Bijhouwer Prize - a lifetime achievement award - is presented and the Bijhouwer lecture is delivered.
What can the NHBOS fund do for you?
Student
Student grant
Landscape architecture students can apply for a grant twice a year. The grant can be used to support a meaningful addition to the regular education program. Think of a workvisit to a project area outside of the Netherlands, study trip, visiting a conference, organizing a workshop or making a model. The grant can be applied for by landscape architecture students at one of the three master's programs in the Netherlands: Wageningen University & Research, Amsterdam Academy of Architecture and Delft University of Technology.
Professional
Talent grant
Recently graduated landscape architects are given the opportunity to broaden and deepen their knowledge at the start of their professional career with the talent grant. The talent grant is awarded once a year.
Research and publication grant
Professionals can apply for a grant twice a year to support research or a publication that contributes to the development of landscape architecture in the Netherlands.
